I cannot believe June is over already. My birthday month just flew by! This has been a crazy year. I’ve found that reading has been a great form of escape, and this blog has been a great way to express myself. Thank you all for reading and following me!

I decided I needed to talk about my most anticipated releases for the next half of 2020, because the list is getting a bit lengthy and I am bursting with impatience. Some of these I’ll have to wait until the end of the year for, and some are much closer. If the book is part of a series, then I only provided a synopsis for the first book in the series, because I did not want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read them.

Truelife (Lifelike, #3) by Jay Kristoff

This one will be released today June 30, 2020, and I’m super excited I won a copy from a Giveaway on Instagram. I love everything Kristoff writes, and I hope this won’t be the last series we see from him. Deviate had a terrible cliff hanger, so I’m excited to see how he ends this series. I love the Shadowhunters, but I love me some Magnus Bane even more. The best thing Clare ever did was start this series where Magnus is one of the main characters. This second book will be published September 1, 2020. Here is my review of The Red Scrolls of Magic, #1.

I love the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini, and he hasn’t written anything since then. I am very intrigued about this new book of his. It’s a hefty one, 800 pages. The cover is amazing and the synopsis looks very interesting. It will be published on September 15, 2020.

Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer

Marissa Meyer hasn’t written anything else since she finished The Renegades series, and The Lunar Chronicles, which as you all know is one of my favorite series of all time. This is going to be Contemporary Romance, and I’m very excited to see where she goes with this story. The premise sounds interesting to say the least. This one will be released on November 2, 2020.

A Sky Beyond the Storm (An Ember in the Ashes, #4) by Sabaa Tahir

The last book in this series, A Reaper at the Gates, completely tore me apart. I hadn’t started my blog yet so there is no review on here for it. But even if I had, I don’t think I could’ve gotten my thoughts in order for a coherent review. I know Tahir has received a lot of bad reviews for it, but in my opinion any book that makes me feel so many emotions, even IF these emotions were anger and frustration, is a book worth reading. I can’t wait to see how she ends the series. I’ve seen her evil tweets, saying how many characters she is going to kill and how they will suffer, and I’m anxious. This one will publish all the way at the end of the year on December 1, 2020.

Series I Need to Finish

Lately I feel like the number of series I need to finish or catch up with has multiplied, so I’m mainly making this post to keep myself accountable. I’m planning to dedicate the month of July to catching up with all these series. I will do my best to follow through with this, but I am ultimately a mood reader and it’s hard for me to stick to a set TBR list, which is why I usually don’t make one.

One of Us is Next (One of Us is Lying, #2) by Karen M. McManus

I recently read One of Us is Lying, and it was a five star read for me. You can click on my link to read my review. I’ve been told this sequel is just as good, but since the first one had some closure to it I didn’t immediately feel the urge to continue with the series. I definitely will get to it soon. It has a 4.06/5 rating on Goodreads.

I just read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, but again I didn’t immediately move on to the sequel (I need to stop doing that). I’ve also heard really good things about this one. It currently has a 4.59/5 rating on Goodreads.

Thunderhead (Scythe, #2) by Neal Shusterman

Scythe, the first book in this series, was a five star read for me. I really need to move on to Thunderhead, and eventually The Toll. This one has a 4.49/5 rating on Goodreads.

The Hand on the Wall (Truly Devious, #3)

I read the first two in this series: Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair a very long time ago. I really need to finish this last one in the series and hopefully have the mystery solved. The last two books were both cliff hangers. This is a nice YA/Mystery series, this last one has a 4.22/5 rating on Goodreads.

This series I also started a long time ago and I need to finish. The first two books were: Ash Princess and Lady Smoke. They are really great books and I really don’t know why I haven’t finished this last one. Like I said before, I am a major mood reader and I regularly switch between genres so that I don’t land myself in a reading slump. This one has a 4.10/5 rating on Goodreads.

My Favorite Book Covers

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

When the cover for this book was announced I almost burst into tears. Let me tell you I am not usually a crier, but I had been waiting for this book for two years. Also, yellow is my favorite color, and look at how beautiful she looks. This book was the perfect ending to one of my favorite series. It gave each character and each sub-plot the closure they needed. It was amazing and I could not put it down.

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

All the covers for this series are gorgeous, but this one and the upcoming novella Reveal Me, are my favorites. I can’t wait to own all of these, so they can adorn my shelves. Currently, I only own Shatter Me, the first one in the series, which is one of my comfort books.

The Wicked King by Holly Black

This is one of those covers that you can’t fully appreciate until you read the book. I thought this book was absolutely amazing, and that ending! What a shocker. You can read my full review here. I can’t wait for the next book The Queen of Nothing, which is coming out November 19, 2019.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

I don’t usually like real people on book covers, but I made an exception for this one. The beautiful dresses on the covers make up for it. Reading these books was like watching the Bachelorette on television; fun and entertaining, but not life changing. It definitely does keep you guessing until the end.

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

This is one of my favorite stand alone books. The cover is unique and colorful, just like the story. I recently went to see the movie and I was very disappointed. I feel like the producers must not have read the book, and if they did, then they completely missed the message. For me this book was not only a love story, but a people story. A story depicting how we are all interconnected. How our actions, even the small ones, can shape and change the lives of others. Mostly, that we as individuals are not the center of the universe, and neither is the Sun.
